First established in 1891, Crufts is the largest dog show in the world, offering pups of all different shapes and sizes the chance to compete for a number of titles.
From "Best in Show" to agility, to heelwork to music, the four day event brings together thousands of dogs and their humans.
Dogs from around the world
Dogs from around the world travel to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, with the Kennel Club estimating around 4,500 entries from overseas.
In 2025, the coveted title of "Best in Show" went to Miuccia, a four-year-old Whippet from Italy.
For many competitors, the dream is to reach the final round and compete for the prestigious title. To get there, each dog must first impress judges in their breed category before advancing through group stages. Only a handful make it to the final arena.
Celebrating all things dog
The opening day of Crufts focused on working and pastoral breeds, along with obedience contests, heelwork to music performances and challenging agility courses.
The fast-paced flyball event is another crowd favourite, with teams of dogs sprinting over hurdles in relay-style races to retrieve a tennis ball. There will also be demonstrations from the West Midlands Police dog unit, showcasing the training and abilities of working police dogs during specialised trials.
As the show continues, different breed groups take their turn in the spotlight: terriers and hounds are judged on Friday, utility and toy breeds on Saturday, and gundogs on Sunday. The winner of the Hero Awards, which celebrates incredible human-canine partnerships, will also be announced as the event comes to a close on Sunday.
