In October 2025, she received a call from an employee at a local orchard.

The caller reported that four dogs had been abandoned in the orchard where he worked.

An abandoned family

He believed it was a mother dog and her three puppies. No one lived on the property, as the orchard was in a remote area. This meant the dogs were completely dependent on the employees for food and water.

When she arrived, Priscilla expected to find only the four dogs that had been reported. But once she was in the orchard, she realised the family wasn't alone. There was another mother dog with her litter of newborn puppies, as well as another adult dog. In total, there weren't four dogs to rescue, but... 13!

Finding a solution

The orchard employees quickly explained to the rescuer that there had only been four dogs when they first called. The other adult dogs had been hiding in the bushes, and a few days later, one of the females gave birth to her litter...

Although Priscilla wasn't prepared to take so many dogs back to the shelter, she found a way to fit them all in her truck by putting one on the back seat. Fortunately, all 13 dogs were in good health and thrived in their foster homes. Since then, every single one of them has found a forever home. What an incredible rescue!
