An unexpected encounter
In South Carolina, USA, Mike Conley was working for a rubbish clearance company when he spotted a puppy that caught his eye.
The little animal was all alone and seemed to be limping. As reported by the website The Dodo, Mike went quickly to check on the dog.
That was when someone claiming to be the puppy's owner made Mike a very surprising offer.
Waiting to be adopted
For 20 dollars, Mike could have the dog: ”the best 20 dollars I ever spent,” he later said.
Before handing over the money, Mike contacted animal control for advice. The officers suggested that they take the puppy into their care.
The young pup has now been placed with a foster family while he waits to find a permanent home. In the meantime, he is receiving medical treatment and is slowly recovering from his leg injury.
