The ANNA Shelter received a distressing call.

With temperatures well below freezing, a dog had been found in a cage, abandoned under a bridge.

An emergency rescue

Rescuers set off immediately to save her. The poor dog was in a terrible state; she was extremely thin, covered in her own waste, and completely frozen. The little Husky was unconscious by the time she arrived at the shelter.

She is about 6 months old and weighs around 15 pounds (7 kg), less than half the normal weight for a Husky her age. Vets put her on an IV drip, gave her vitamin injections, and spent three hours warming her up before she finally regained consciousness.

Aimee's road to recovery

The rescuers named the brave dog Aimee. Without her thick Husky double coat, she would never have survived such conditions. Just 24 hours after her rescue, the shelter shared some wonderful news on their social media. They announced that the little dog was a true warrior and was fighting for her life!

Aimee is now doing much better and enjoying plenty of cuddles from the vets and her rescuers. The police are currently seeking information about the person who abandoned her. We wish Aimee a speedy recovery and all the best for her future.
