Miracles do happen... Parker, a 13-year-old dog, has been reunited with his family after five years apart. As reported by People magazine, Parker was eight years old when he escaped through the back gate of his family home.
At the time, his family searched for him relentlessly but couldn't find him. Five years later, Parker's owner couldn't believe her ears when she found out her dog had been found.
A miraculous discovery
Found wandering on a road not far from his family's home, Parker was taken to Hernando County Sheriff's Office Animal Services in the USA.
The power of a microchip
And it was thanks to his microchip that his owners were located. In a Facebook post, the Sheriff's Office highlighted the importance of microchipping: "Parker's story is a powerful reminder of the importance of microchipping, keeping information updated, and never underestimating the impact of this small tool that can lead to heartwarming reunions."
