A cat and a female dog were found locked inside a flat, all alone.
An appalling discovery
Firefighters were the first to discover the scene, which had been left in a chaotic state. They had been alerted by the tenant's sister. The smell coming from the property was so terrible that she feared there was a dead body inside...
The firefighters managed to give the dog some water but were unable to retrieve her. They called the police, who then contacted the Pôle Enquêtes Maltraitance rescue centre.
A rescue mission and a new beginning
However, as the rescuers were notified late in the evening, they couldn't intervene immediately. They had to gather all the necessary transport equipment to launch the rescue the following morning. The animals had clearly been left alone in the flat for some time.
When the team arrived, they found no food or water in the bowls, and the entire flat was soiled with excrement. Sadly, the cat was so terrified by the rescuers that he escaped via the balcony. The team is now doing everything they can to locate him.
The good news is that the rescued dog, renamed Stella, was placed in a foster home. Her foster family fell so in love with her that they decided to adopt her and give her a forever home. A truly successful adoption!
