During the flight, a crew member from Southwest Airlines made a rather unusual request to the passengers.
An unusual passenger
As it turned out, the crew had spotted an extra passenger on board. A grey cat was found wandering down the aisles, having given its owner the slip! A crew member gently scooped the cat up and carried it along the aisle in search of its human. The other passengers found the situation hilarious, as you can hear in the video below.
In the caption for the video posted on Instagram, Jason Thompson wrote: “When a cat gets loose on your Thanksgiving flight home and no one is claiming it.”
A cabin-wide search
In addition to walking the aisles, the crew made an announcement over the intercom in an attempt to find the owner: “If you are sitting next to the person with the cat and you know who it is, can you please press the call button?”
As Jason mentioned in the video, it took the crew a little while to locate the cat's owner, but they were eventually successful. Viewers online, just like the passengers, were very amused by the cat's expressions. “The cat is looking around like, where is my human?” one person commented, while another wrote: “That cat is incredibly calm considering all the people and noise.” We have to agree, we're also impressed by its composure, and above all, relieved that the cat was safely reunited with its owner!
