In San Diego, USA, a dog who was swept out to sea has been rescued by the city's fire department.
According to ABC News, it was a surfer at Ocean Beach who first spotted the animal floating in the bay.
Half a mile from shore
The dog, named Sadie, had taken advantage of her owners watching a football match to slip out of the house.
After an hour of searching, the rescuers managed to locate the dog. She was found about half a mile from the shore, near South Mission Beach.
A happy reunion
The rescuers rushed to retrieve her and reunite her with her owners, who were relieved to have her back.
”We really wanted a good outcome, and we're happy that Sadie was able to go home and, you know, survive this traumatic event.”
