Matt has always been a huge football fan and loves watching the matches on TV at home, with his faithful companion Pitty Pat curled up on his lap!
An inseparable pair
The ginger cat curls up on his lap and will happily sleep there all afternoon or evening. There's nothing she loves more in the world.
Lauren jokes that Pitty Pat was adopted for the sole purpose of keeping Matt company on the sofa while he watches the football.
Every weekend, they watch the football together. Although, it's fair to say Pitty Pat does more napping than watching!
The story of how they met
When Lauren asked him to tell the story, Matt explained that he was just 22 years old when he adopted her.
He went to his local rescue centre in Texas, USA, specifically looking to adopt an adult cat. He knew that older cats often have a much harder time finding a home than kittens do.
When he arrived, the staff told him that Pitty Pat had been at the centre for six months without a single adoption enquiry.
That was all Matt needed to hear. He decided to adopt Pitty Pat right away and give her the loving home she deserved.
Matt once again showed what a big heart he has: he also rescued a dog about six months after adopting Pitty Pat!
The couple now share their happy home with Pitty Pat and their two dogs!
@lollie214 Just picturing him going to the shelter and picking out this cat for a friend in a new city makes my heart warm #cat #sheltercat #rescue #football #collegefootball #catdad ♬ My Love Mine All Mine - Mitski
