A little black and white cat who leads a feral cat colony kept volunteers at Stray Cat Club in London on their toes.
For months, volunteers tried to bring her to safety, but the cat always managed to escape.
"Irritable, aggressive and frightened"
Determined, the volunteers never gave up on the idea of rescuing her. One day, their patience was finally rewarded. The moggy let herself be caught.
Very quickly, the volunteers understood why: she was about to give birth. The start of the rescue wasn't going to be easy. The cat proved to be "irritable, aggressive and frightened".
On the day she gave birth, the cat began to relax, rubbing between a volunteer's legs in search of affection.
The cat gave birth to five healthy babies. Very quickly, the cat switched into "mum mode" and began caring for her little ones.
Today, the little family is now safe and living an indoor life.
