This remarkable "lift" was spotted by our editorial colleague whilst waiting for her dental appointment in a Paris district.
Taxi!
She first noticed, through the window, a cat sitting on the lawn who appeared rather lost. The cat was mewing and gazing up at the windows, as if wanting to return home but unsure how. In reality, she knew exactly what she was doing. She was calling for her owner, who shortly sent down an extraordinary "taxi" to collect her.
He lowered a box on a string, which the little cat immediately hopped into before soaring upwards.
Discussing this unusual situation with the dentist, our colleague Clarisse discovered that this was nothing new. The cat ventures into the courtyard and returns this way several times daily.
Clever cat
After sharing the footage on Wamiz's Instagram, the cat's owner contacted our team and explained that the cat is a female named Gindoule.
"Since we live on the first floor, when she was small, she'd regularly stand on the railing until one day she jumped onto the lawn. Obviously, we had to fetch her, but gradually she developed the habit of going out. When we devised the lift system, she understood everything very quickly," explains Clem, her owner.
Now, who's going to argue that cats can't be trained?
