Dog-nappers demand £880,000, after two Bolonka dogs stolen in Switzerland

An owner in Switzerland was left fearing the worst, after he received a shocking ransom note from a dog-napper. He immediately contacted the Swiss police. 

A 59-year-old dog owner was horrified to discover his beloved canine companions had been stolen from his home near Zurich, Switzerland. 

To make matters worse, the thief had also left a ransom note, in which they demanded a staggering 1 million Swiss francs!

An urgent investigation

Swiss police immediately got to work, tracking down the dogs. The Bolonka is an extremely rare toy breed, prized for their affectionate, happy temperament.

A week-long search for the thief ensued, resulting in a 30-year-old being detained at Zurich Airport. He is believed to have been involved in the dog-napping and subsequent ransom. A second suspect was also detained in collaboration with the Polish police. 

The reunion

The 30-year-old is being held in custody, while the 38-year-old is currently under investigation. 

The stolen dogs have now happily returned to their distraught owner. Both he and his four-legged friends were overjoyed to have been safely reunited..
