"Nobody knows how she got there", explained The Dodo, sharing a clip of the heart-stopping rescue to Facebook.
A Pit Bull Terrier had been abandoned in Jacksonville, and somehow was now stuck on a bridge.
Slow but steady
"I had to take a few deep breaths", said Kyle, who works for the ACPS. "I knew this was a very dangerous situation. The wind was blowing the bridge, and with every car that passed by you could feel the bumps".
The poor pup was absolutely terrified, trembling with fear and unable to move.
Thankfully, she seemed to understand help had arrived, and she showed no sign of aggression as Kyle approached her. The team managed to temporarily stop the traffic, lifting her to safety.
A new beginning
Back at the shelter, the Pit Bull temporarily seemed to shut down, cautiously trying to work out who she could trust.
"This the bridge on 95 in Jacksonville. Someone definitely had to put her here. She’s on the inside and no way she got on that side by herself", commented a shocked viewer on Facebook.
Given her ordeal, it's no wonder she was wary. But with the attention and love of staff and volunteers, she soon blossomed into a happy, confident girl.
In no time at all, she was on her way to her new home.
