It's 20 January, and traditionally this is the day when the new or incumbent US President is sworn into office. Trump's inauguration is being eagerly anticipated worldwide.
The family of the 45th and 47th President is well-known, but does it include a dog, as was the case with his predecessors Biden and Obama?
Trump is not a dog lover
Donald Trump is famously not a dog owner and didn't have a dog in the White House during his first term as President of the United States (2017 to 2021).
He was the first US President in over 100 years who didn't own a dog or any other pet for that matter. In interviews, he's said that while he likes pets, he doesn't have time for them and isn't sure if a dog would suit his lifestyle.
No four-legged friend expected in the White House
As he becomes President again, it's unlikely he'll bring a dog to the White House.
The official residence of arguably the most powerful man in the world thus joins the 55% of US households without a dog.
