As the final votes for the general election were cast last night, Larry decided to pop out for a mental health walk.

Returning to Downing Street this morning, Larry is looking as nonchalant as ever. At 17 years old, the beloved Chief Mouser will be welcoming his 6th Prime Minister into what has now been his home for the past 14 years.

Larry for Prime Minister

Keir Starmer’s landslide victory ends the Conservative Party's 14-year tenure in power, but it was a close call. Indeed, with Larry in the running, it looked as though neither party would win!

New polling from Ipsos has found that 44% of Britons have a favourable opinion of Larry the cat. This is higher than either Rishi Sunak (22%) or Keir Starmer (34%).

A favourite in Britain

Awareness of Larry is high, with 38% of the British public saying they have heard a great deal or a fair amount about the Number 10 cat.

And can you blame them? Larry has such a personality, and let’s face it, has the cutest face in politics.
