In a video captured for TikTok, Alyssa shows RJ reaching up to ring the bell, and then patiently waiting for the door to be opened.
He seems to get quite frustrated with the speed of his owner's arrival, meowing as he sits on the doorstep.
Alyssa admits her pet's new talent came as quite the shock, as she had no idea he had picked up on the bell. Viewers were also amazed, with one commenting, "so very polite and very clever". Another compared his skill to her own cat, who learnt to jump on the door handle to open the door.
