The terrified dog faced near death before being found in the snow-covered forest near a supermarket in sub-zero temperatures.
Shelter to the rescue
Once they heard about the dog’s plight, an animal shelter in Tomaszów came to the dog’s rescue, bringing it to the safety of the shelter. In collaboration with the police, the shelter then initiated a search for the heartless owner, issuing a plea on Facebook for any information leading to their identification.
The emotionally charged post detailed the discovery of the dog near the Polish Children’s Center, emphasising the inexplicable cruel actions of the dog’s owners. Fortunately, the police have identified the owner and are investigating.
Don’t abandon pets
This incident has prompted the shelter to implore the public not to abandon pets. They urge owners to act responsibly if they can no longer care for their animals. If, for any reason, you can no longer keep a pet, take them to your local animal shelter where they will be safe, fed and properly cared for and have the opportunity to find a new home. Abandoning an animal, especially in freezing temperatures, is never the solution.
