A unique trend is emerging at weddings, as couples opt for a novel twist on the traditional bouquet toss, replacing flowers with cats.

Instead of throwing a bouquet, newlyweds Cassie and Jonathon Roth found the purr-fect alternative by hosting a cat toss at their wedding, with the winner taking home a rescue kitten.

Don't worry, though; no real cats were thrown. Instead, the couple threw a cat plushie into the air for their friends and family to compete over. Cassie's bridesmaid won the prize, and a rescue kitten found a new loving home.

The couple have shared a mutual love for cats since they first met in high school, and together have two feline friends of their own, Smokey and Ella.

The alternative bouquet toss was all made possible by FairyTail Pet Care which offers wedding day pet care. Its founders Ilana Karcinski and Kelly Nova, partner with local animal shelters to introduce adoptable pets into weddings.

For Cassie and Jonathon's wedding, FairyTail Pet Care brought five adoptable kittens to the event, allowing them to interact with guests during the cocktail hour. The DJ announced the cat toss, and the guests, already aware of the available adoptable kittens, eagerly participated.
