The discovery, made even more chilling by the presence of animal remains beside him, prompted a concerned individual, Mr. M, to urgently seek help from the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS).
Urgent rescue
Responding swiftly to the distress call, Animal Care Officer Cortez arrived. Together, the pair embarked on a challenging mission to secure the trapped feline's safety and freedom. With utmost care, Mark was eventually rescued, placed in a secure carrier, and rushed to the Animal Emergency Room for a critical medical evaluation. Fortunately, Mark appeared to be in good health.
Mark was then transferred to the care of ACS, where their dedicated veterinary team closely monitored his physical and emotional well-being during this crucial period.
Community cat
This incredible rescue story, shared on Facebook, has attracted nearly 300 likes and an outpouring of gratitude from the community since it was posted. Comments poured in, praising the heroes who came to Mark's aid and celebrating the humane efforts of local shelter services.
As Mark is uncomfortable around humans and not well socialised, the ACS decided he was better suited as a community cat rather than being adopted as a house pet.
