Melwood: male dog to adopt

Melwood has sadly been returned to us and is now starting his search for his forever home again. He will need to go to a 1-2-1 adult only home with minimal to no visitors and no visiting children. Melwood is a very happy boy who loves nothing more than playing with his toys and chasing a ball! He can be a little nervous of some people at first but doesn't take long to warm up to you. Melwood is looking for an active owner as despite his age he is still very energetic and enjoys his walks and sniffing all the plants. Whilst we haven't seen this behaviour with us in kennels we have been told that Melwood does resource guard in the home so an owner who has experience with this would be ideal. Melwood needs a patient and understanding owner who will give him the time and space he needs to settle into his new home. He loves his own space and would benefit from having a space of his own where he feels safe. Melwood truly is a lovely boy who has so much love to give, he can be an affectionate boy who enjoys a fuss at times though this must all be on his own terms. He would make a great companion to someone who has the time and patience to help him and understands when to give him his space. We have been told that Melwood is ok with some dogs when on his walks though he must be the only pet in a 1-2-1 adult only home.
