Meet Tally 💙

Male
Just over a year old
Medium/Large
Available for adoption
Selby - YO8

💙 We saved Tally's life just moments before he was to be put down. He was supposed to go to a new foster home, but he became so scared and nervous that we couldn't move him. Now, he's back in emergency kennels, and he's not doing well and our hearts ache for him. 💔💔
We urgently need a special forever home for Tally. His new family must be incredibly patient with him, as he is a nervous boy but very lovable. Experience with larger breeds is essential, as Tally is a big boy, even though he's just over a year old.
Tally can't live with cats or children but he is happy to live with spayed female dogs.
Is there anyone out there willing to give Tally another chance? He is an amazing dog with so much love to give. He just needs love, patience, and time.
Please, if you can open your heart and home to Tally, reach out to us. He deserves a chance to be happy and loved. 💙
Tally will bark at new people coming into the home however after a few minutes he will settle and is very friendly. He has been known to hump people however it is felt this would improve once he is neutered and his dominance is worked on. He is a very gentle, loving boy who is very eager to please. He is the true definition of the BFG. Tally's owner has been working on muzzle training with him which he has been doing very well with.
Tally accepts a collar, harness and lead. He is good on the lead and will walk next to his owner without pulling however he is very strong.
Tally is toilet trained but is not crate trained. He has not been destructive and can be left alone for up to 5 hours with no issues. Tally has never shown any food guarding issues, his owner can stroke him while he is eating with no issues. He also sleeps well overnight in his bed. Tally has been known to bark at people walking past the window of the home, it would therefore be best for her to live in a quiet area or in a home with no foot traffic to minimise this.
Tally is a clever boy and has been known to be an escape artist trying to jump the fence and he can also open doors and windows if they aren't locked. Tally will need a secure garden in his new home and will need to remain on a long-line lead, his new home will also need to be careful around doors and windows to ensure he doesn't escape.
Tally would thrive in a loving, patient and dedicated home that can continue his training and gaining his confidence.
