Meet Gizmo...3 kilos of wonky mischief! Like several identical little dogs that we have bought over from the same area of Romania, he has a little wonky walk and is a bit wobbly on his back legs (we suspect this is an over-breeding issue and that the dogs are all coming from the same place).
Gizmo looks like a miniature Peke or Tibetan Spaniel type dog and it seems a little too coincidental that there have been quite a few that look exactly the same come onto our radar. His wonky walk doesn’t stop him doing ANYTHING though, and he can tank it round the garden with the best of them...he just looks a little bit drunk sometimes, which just makes him even cuter!
He is a delightful cuddle monster, but is a typical little dog and has a BIG attitude and does like his own way. As much as he will literally jump into your arms to go out, he doesn’t always like to come back in and in a rescue environment it’s just easier to pick him up to put him to bed in his crate, but we doubt this would be an issue in a proper home as he was fine when he was in foster. That said he doesn’t really try to bite you and it is just an objection more than anything aggressive (and to be honest because of his underbite his teeth don’t meet anywhere to bite anyway!).
He walks on a lead, is clean in the house, travels well in the car and is crate-trained and is of course just the cutest little button on the planet and gives the best nose licks EVER. Because of his little quirks, we are looking for a child free home, but this is mainly because he’s so tiny the temptation for young children to pick him up all the time may be too great. We think Gizmo would suit older, less active adopters in a relatively quiet home and, as much as he has lived with other dogs, we do think he would be better suited to a dog-free home so he can enjoy being the only pebble on the beach
Gizmo is castrated, fully vaccinated, microchipped, has a valid EU passport and has had his UK brucellosis test.
If you feel you could give Gizmo the loving home he so deserves, please pop onto our website at www.savingandrehomingstrays.org and complete an adoption application. (Please note a virtual homecheck and a £500 adoption fee will apply. Thank you!)
