Jordan and his two brothers were dumped in a pound in Cyprus after being found on the street as strays. Unfortunately, the dogs that end up in the council pounds have a really tough time and whilst one of Jordan’s brothers was adopted quickly, he and his other brother were left behind for months and months.
Finally, we were able to give Jordan the opportunity to travel to a foster home in the UK and is now living in Berkshire, where he’s settling into life as a companion and learning what it’s like to finally live in a home environment. Despite living such a sheltered life up until now, Jordan is settling in so well and we’re so impressed at how adaptable he’s been despite being a naturally shy boy.
Jordan is a small sized miniature pinscher mixed breed and is absolutely beautiful. He has a gorgeous, sleek coat, very expressive ears, and looking past what’s on the outside Jordan is just generally a very good boy with a gentle and pure soul. He’s not always the most forthcoming with strangers and he needs a little time to forma trusting bond with people before he feels really comfortable in their company, but you can see that he really wants to be around people and he just needs some patience and understanding. He is bonding so nicely with his fosters in the short time he’s been with them. He loves a paw massage and a cuddle on the sofa.
Jordan really benefits from the company of other dogs. He knows how to read them and he gains confidence in the presence. He observes the behaviour of other dogs to learn how to react in certain situations, and having a resident dog is something that we think Jordan would prefer. Right now he is living with a greyhound in his foster home and they’ve sparked up a lovely friendship. Jordan is playful with other dogs, but also loves to snuggle as well, so he would welcome having a pal in his forever home.
Jordan has never lived with, or had considerable exposure to young children. Because he can be a little bit skittish and unsure of sudden movements we think he would be more comfortable in a home with older children. He’s never shown any hostile behaviour towards kids but we don’t think he would find a home with young children very relaxing given his disposition. He has also not been tested with cats.
Jordan would be best suited to a home outside of the city surrounded by plenty of nice, calm places to walk and enjoy the outdoors. He can walks very nicely on the lead and loves being outside, especially with another resident dog to follow about and sniff all the same blades of grass and specks of dust with. He does need a family with a little bit of patience, and who understand he can be a little bit reserved and probably won’t be an ideal pub dog or social butterfly, but given the right home atmosphere we think Jordan is going to make fantastic progress. He’s shown so much potential already and has such a sweet, affection and loyal nature. After his long stint in the shelter, he deserves nothing but a five star home and we’re sure they’re out there somewhere!
Jordan is currently based in Berkshire and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to meet his new forever family so please get in touch if you’d like to meet him!
