Ted: male dog to adopt

Meet Ted – A Little Frenchie Who's Finally Ready to Be Loved

Breed: French Bulldog Age: 8 years old

Location: Rescue in Ayr Ted's life didn't get off to the start that every dog deserves.

He came into our care as a UK rescue after being pulled from a local pound by one of our trusted pound pullers. Before that, Ted had been seized by the Metropolitan Police as part of a cruelty case, and when he arrived with us, it was clear he'd endured a great deal of neglect. His little body was covered in fleas and he was suffering from a severe flea allergy.

His skin was red, sore and painfully itchy, and he'd lost much of the fur across his back and around his face. It must have been incredibly uncomfortable, but despite everything he'd been through, Ted's gentle nature still shone through. Fast forward to today, and this handsome little man is a completely different dog.

Ted has now been fully assessed by our vet, has been castrated, is responding brilliantly to treatment, and his beautiful coat is growing back nicely. Best of all, his happy, affectionate personality is beginning to shine brighter every day.

What Ted is Like • Exceptionally affectionate and loving

Loves nothing more than cuddles and human company

Toilet trained

Walks beautifully on a lead

Good with other dogs

Calm, sweet and easy to live with

Loves being close to his favourite person Ted has formed an incredibly strong bond with our General Manager and absolutely adores her. He thrives on companionship and is happiest when he's close to the person he loves. He can sometimes bark when meeting strangers, but this isn't aggression—it's simply his way of letting everyone know they're there.

Once he realises everything is okay, his lovely personality quickly takes over.

Ted's Ideal Home Although Ted gets along well with other dogs, we feel he'd truly flourish as an only dog where he doesn't have to share his favourite person's attention.

His perfect home would ideally be with a single person, preferably a lady, who is looking for a devoted little companion. Someone who is home for much of the day would suit Ted perfectly, as he simply loves being part of everyday life and doesn't ask for much more than a comfy bed, gentle walks and plenty of cuddles.

A calm home where he can continue to feel safe, secure and cherished would be everything this little boy has ever dreamed of.

Why We Love Ted Ted is proof that kindness can change a life.

Despite the neglect he suffered, he hasn't lost his trust in people.

Instead, he greets each day with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart and an endless supply of love to give.

He isn't looking for a life of excitement or adventure. He's looking for his person. Someone who will adore him just as much as he'll adore them. After everything this little boy has endured, we so desperately want to find him the forever home he has always deserved. Could that be with you?
