Dog survives for a month in Yellowstone National Park thanks to her street smarts

By Elodie Carpentier•

A little dog has managed to survive for an entire month in the famous Yellowstone National Park in the United States.

Luna, a 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, has left everyone amazed. As reported by the website PetHelpful, she survived for over a month in Yellowstone National Park.

This incredible adventure began when Luna ran away from a camping cabin in Canyon Village in early September.

Against all odds

Her family searched tirelessly for her, but a park ranger dampened their hopes when he warned that freezing temperatures and coyotes meant her chances of survival were very slim.

Against all expectations, there was a wonderful turn of events on 14 October when Luna was finally reunited with her owner.

"She knows how to look after herself"

Speaking to local media, Luna's owner was not at all surprised that her little dog had coped on her own.

As she explained, before being adopted, Luna spent the first year of her life living on the streets: "She's street-smart and knows how to look after herself."
