Cat intercepted outside a prison: guards find something illegal around its neck

By Elodie Carpentier

In a Russian prison, the guards' daily routine was disrupted by an unusual feline visitor whose suspicious outfit hid a surprising secret.

The walls of a prison are rarely the setting for heartwarming scenes. However, guards at Correctional Facility No. 17 in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia had their day turned upside down when they spotted a familiar little silhouette approaching the walls.

A cat was walking casually along, looking as though he were on a mission. But when they looked closer, one detail caught the guards' attention immediately. The feline was wearing not one, but two fabric collars, which were clearly handmade. Intrigued by these accessories, they decided to stop the little animal to find out what was going on.

A carefully wrapped surprise package

The guards picked up the cat gently and examined the collars. To their amazement, they made a shocking discovery: illegal drugs were hidden carefully inside them.

Without realising it, the little feline was being used as a smuggler to deliver contraband to the inmates. It was a highly unusual method, proving once again just how resourceful some people can be when it comes to breaking the rules.

A happy ending for the little courier

An examination confirmed that the cat was in perfect health. Entirely innocent in the whole affair, he was released into a safe environment, far away from the prison walls. It is a happy ending for this little adventurer who never asked to be involved in such drama.
