The couple got so used to seeing her that they nicknamed her ”The Mayor”.
Even though she visited regularly, the cat remained very wary of humans.
Male or female?
At first, Kate and her neighbours thought she was a male. That was until ”the tomcat” gave birth to kittens on her roof. The whole neighbourhood was shocked to discover she was actually a female.
Kate was also very worried about the cat and the safety of her kittens on the roof. However, the cat decided to take charge. She started moving her kittens to a safer place herself.
Choosing her shelter
The Mayor made her way to Kate's garden, where she hid her three kittens under a shelter. Relieved that they were safe and sound, Kate decided to bring the whole little family inside her home. At first, The Mayor was very protective and wouldn't let anyone near her kittens.
Eventually, after a few days, she began to relax. She actually turned out to be very affectionate. The kittens have now been checked by a vet. They are eight weeks old and ready for adoption.
Wonderful news! Kate's neighbour wants to adopt The Mayor, while Kate is looking for loving homes for the kittens. We wish them all the very best for the future.
