It was a surprising rescue. On Saturday, 15th June 2024, a post office in Clarksburg, Ohio (USA), was the scene of a memorable event.
According to reports, a kitten had been deliberately pushed through the slot of a post box. Unable to get out on its own, it was meowing for help.
Fortunately, even though it was evening, a staff member from the Fayette Regional Humane Society was dispatched to help the tiny feline.
A special delivery
The little ginger and white tomcat, about 10 weeks old, was frightened but uninjured. The rescue officer was surprised by the call-out, having never seen an animal trapped in such a place before. Despite his ordeal, the little kitten quickly proved to be very sociable and melted the hearts of the entire team when he was taken into their care.
A bright future ahead
Named "Special Delivery" as a nod to his predicament, he is now safe at the shelter and recovering from his ordeal. Thankfully, he was found in time and will soon be ready for adoption, hopefully to a family who won't try to post him this time!
