At the end of May, she carried out a rescue that moved thousands of people on the social media platform TikTok.
Audrey came to the aid of a mother dog who had been abandoned in the woods with her six puppies.
Severe malnutrition
The dog was in a state of severe malnutrition when Audrey found her. However, the brave mother hadn't abandoned her little ones and had done her best to keep them safe and well.
When Audrey arrived, the dog stood up and approached her, wagging her tail. The poor thing was so physically weak that even wagging her tail exhausted her and made her stumble. All of her ribs were visible. This mother had clearly sacrificed herself to ensure her puppies were fed.
A well-deserved meal
Audrey gave food to the mother dog and her puppies, and the family devoured their meal as if it were the first time in months they had seen real food. People online were in tears when they saw the rescue of this little family. They sent numerous donations to help them.
The rescuer has since shared many updates on their situation. The dog has been renamed Arya and is doing much better, as you can see in the videos below. She has already put on some weight and her ribs are less visible. She underwent several health checks which revealed she was positive for heartworm, so Arya will need treatment.
As Audrey pointed out in a video, her recovery will be a one-step-at-a-time process. We wish Arya and her six adorable puppies all the best.
