Scout is an adorable Beagle who spent several years as a laboratory dog. In his life of confinement, the poor pup knew nothing of human warmth or comfort.
Thankfully, thanks to the US-based organisation Beagle Freedom Project, he was rescued from this sad life. He was then put up for adoption to discover what it's like to be a family pet.
Once adopted, Scout had everything to learn about ordinary life, even the simplest things.
His first ever toy
Cherished by his new family, Scout the Beagle's world changed completely. And when his owners decided to give him his first toy, the little dog just couldn't contain his excitement!
Overjoyed with his new monkey teddy, the pup seems to have forgotten all about his sad past. He looks completely ready to make the most of his new life.
A gentle breed
Chosen for their gentle and kind nature, Beagles are unfortunately a popular choice for laboratories. In France, there are also organisations that help to rehabilitate these dogs, such as Le Graal and Beagles of Burgundy.
