Rocky often brings his owner little presents, but this time, he had brought back... a live fish.
A fishy emergency
Rocky dropped it on the patio floor, right at his owner's feet. Vanessa could see straight away that it wasn't a goldfish from a bowl, but a pond fish. She immediately grabbed a salad bowl and filled it with water to put the fish inside.
It was quick thinking on her part. The fish revived as soon as it was in the water. Vanessa then called a veterinary clinic to explain the situation, but unfortunately, they were unable to take the fish.
Social media to the rescue
So, Vanessa posted an appeal on social media, hoping to find the fish's owner. And the magic of social media worked! The owner came forward in the comments, explaining that two of her pond fish had mysteriously disappeared recently...
She came to collect her fish, mentioning that she lived about half a mile from Vanessa's house – quite a long way for a fish to travel in a cat's mouth! Thankfully, the fish is now back in its pond, having had a truly unusual adventure for a fish!
