Isabelle's story begins in one of the most dangerous places in Las Vegas, USA: a bustling six-lane junction. For two days, a Good Samaritan tried to get her to safety, and finally succeeded. For the team at Hearts Alive Village, the rescue centre that took her in, the fact that she was even alive was a miracle.
Once at the shelter, the usual procedure began: scanning for a microchip. To the volunteers' delight, a chip was detected and an owner was identified. Isabelle had been missing for two months. Everyone expected an emotional reunion, but the phone call that followed cast a chill over the room.
Heartbreaking news on the other end of the line
When they contacted the owner, the volunteers learned that she was facing serious health problems. Weakened and unable to care for herself, she sadly explained that she could no longer look after Isabelle. The poor dog, already traumatised by her time as a stray, was now officially surrendered.
A video shared on Instagram by @jackpotpaws shows Isabelle's arrival at the shelter. The little dog is trembling all over, hiding under her basket and avoiding all eye contact. This behaviour, typical of animals given up by their owners, shows the immense stress caused by losing her bearings and the constant noise of the kennels.
Love at first sight within 24 hours
Fortunately, fate decided to smile on the little senior dog again. After eight days at the shelter, Isabelle was transferred to an adoption centre in Henderson to be groomed and presented to the public. On the very day she arrived, a woman caught her eye and it was love at first sight.
Isabelle was adopted on the spot. The video of her story has already racked up over 239,000 views, sparking a wave of relief on social media. "My heart breaks to see a dog so sad and confused, but I'm so happy she's found her forever family," wrote one user.
