Handed over to a rescue centre with his mother and four siblings, Dimitri found his arrival at the Central Missouri Humane Society (CMHS) in the US very difficult.
The adorable few-week-old puppy had to watch his entire family get adopted, while his own adopter never came to collect him. It was a confusing and difficult time for the little pup, who spent a restless night at the shelter.
Fortunately, destiny had a wonderful surprise in store for him.
Left all alone
It was in a video shared by the shelter on TikTok that we first met Dimitri. The clip shows the little puppy lying in his kennel, looking visibly sad and scared to be in this unfamiliar place. The caption explained his situation: "I was brought to a scary place yesterday with my siblings... People came to meet us and we all had adopters. When I woke up, they were gone... and my adopter couldn't take me home anymore. I miss my siblings. The people here are nice but I'm ready for a family. I want to find a home..."
A new beginning for Ollie
But luckily for Dimitri, just a few hours after this heartbreaking video was posted, the family who had adopted his mother decided to come and offer him a home too. Dimitri became Ollie, and he went to join his mum in his new forever home.
It was a moment of great joy for all the volunteers, who were thrilled for the adorable Ollie. He was incredibly lucky to find a home so quickly.
