For eight long years, life was incredibly difficult for a dog named Toto.
The poor dog lived permanently chained up by his former owner.
A life of neglect
It was a severe case of animal neglect. The dog's living conditions were squalid, and to make matters worse, his so-called "owner" failed to provide the veterinary care he desperately needed. Toto was suffering from terrible dental pain.
According to his rescuers, "his mouth was absolutely foul, full of loose and infected teeth." Because of the state of his mouth, the poor dog couldn't eat properly, which explained why he was so emaciated.
A new beginning
Fortunately, on 23rd November 2023, fate intervened, and Toto was saved by two rescuers from the shelter. The dog was seized and taken to a vet. He needed several major operations to remove almost all of his teeth. The rescuers then placed him in a foster home.
After years of living in atrocious conditions, Toto's road to recovery wasn't easy. But fate stepped in once more. While out for a walk with his foster family, Toto had an encounter that changed everything all over again.
A woman fell in love with him at first sight, and the connection between them was instant. Now, to the delight of his rescuers, Toto is living with her in his new forever home.
