Cat lovers were left speechless, after CCTV footage showing a beloved pet being stolen, was shared online. The Amazon delivery driver has now pleaded guilty.

A delivery driver for Amazon faces an uncertain future, after he was caught stealing long-haired tabby cat Nora from a home in West Yorks.

The video, which has since been shared online, captures the shocking moment he decides to take her with him, scooping her into his arms before walking off down the driveway.

A heartbreaking discovery

When Nora's family arrived home on the 18th of January, they looked everywhere for their girl. Nowhere to be found, they decided to check their Ring doorbell camera. And as they watched the clip, their hearts sank.

Hours later, devastated owner Carl received a message from delivery driver Catalin Stancu. "Hello. I have your cat" it read.

Fear and emotional distress

"Finding out that she had been intentionally taken only increased our fear and emotional distress" explained Carl in a witness statement.

Stancu was arrested by the police, and pleaded guilty to theft.

District judge Alexander Boyd is now considering all options, including custody. He feels the offence is "far too serious for just a financial penalty."
