They pulled over to see what it was.
It was then they realised they were abandoned puppies, left all alone on the roadside.
A clever trick
The women decided to lure the puppies to their car. They used some food to try and coax them over, and it worked!
As soon as the puppies realised the two women were there to save them, they started wagging their tails and jumping up for cuddles.
An unexpected surprise
The two women settled the puppies in their car and were about to drive off. Just then, their hearts skipped a beat. They heard a noise coming from the bushes... At first, they thought it might be the puppies' mother, but then they realised it was a fifth puppy.
The poor thing was limping... That's why he hadn't been able to join the two women like his brothers and sisters had: he was too weak to run to the car!
The two women then took all five puppies into the care of the rescuers at Three Little Pitties Rescue. The little female puppy with the injured paw received treatment and is now recovering well. We're so relieved and wish the entire litter all the best for the future!
