Once they were able to examine the cats, they discovered that two of the females had very round bellies...
They were pregnant and urgently needed a foster home.
Giving them space
The rescuers decided to separate the pregnant cats from the others at the shelter to give them all the space they needed. The two cats were placed in foster homes. It didn't take long for Abby and Priscilla (nicknamed Cilla) to feel comfortable in their new surroundings.
In fact, the cats would rub up against their foster mum, asking for attention and cuddles. Then, one Sunday morning, Abby went into labour.
A special delivery
With her foster mum by her side, she gave birth to four healthy kittens in just an hour and a half! Two weeks later, it was Cilla's turn to have her little ones. Sadly, of the kittens she gave birth to, only two survived.
Abby and Cilla are taking wonderful care of their kittens, and the little ones are growing well. As soon as the kittens are old enough to be independent, Abby and Cilla will be spayed and can find their forever families. We wish them all the best for their future adventures!
