A heavily pregnant cat was found wandering in a wooded area known to be frequented by foxes.

In 2026, the Stray Cat Club rescue centre in London took in a heavily pregnant cat.

As reported by LoveMeow, the mum-to-be was spotted near a wooded area frequented by foxes. It was therefore crucial to get her to safety as quickly as possible.

The rescue centre then shared a photo of the cat on social media in an attempt to find her owner, but to no avail.

A stillborn kitten

Named Sarsaparilla, the mum-to-be was placed in a foster home to give birth. She delivered one kitten prematurely, but it was sadly stillborn.

After a check-up at the vet, it was confirmed that her other kittens were healthy. Two days later, she gave birth to three healthy kittens.

A devoted mother

The volunteers took great care of the little family, making sure the new mother had all the support she needed.

The kittens developed quickly, much to the delight of the volunteers. Sarsaparilla was an extraordinary mother to her babies. Thanks to the dedication of the many volunteers, this little family is now thriving in their foster home.
