Inside the carrier was a white female cat, lost and alone.
The person who had abandoned the cat had left a note.
A touching message
The note, left by the cat's owner, read: "Please take care of Daisy. She is a wonderful friend! Kisses, her cat mum." With no idea where the cat had come from, the resident contacted the local RSPCA rescue centre for help.
The rescuers agreed to take Daisy into their Oxfordshire centre. Reading the note, all the staff at the shelter were deeply moved.
Soaked with tears
The rescuers noticed that the note was stained in several places, most likely by tears. It's easy to imagine Daisy's owner crying as she wrote the note, heartbroken at having to part with her cat because she could no longer afford to keep her.
Daisy is gradually getting used to life at the rescue centre. The rescuers have stressed that people should not hesitate to contact them before abandoning a pet, as there are solutions available to help those struggling to care for their animal. We wish Daisy all the best for the future.
