Hannah Lazar lives in Michigan, USA, with her family.

In December 2025, Hannah and her family found a puppy wandering all alone in the cold.

A search for his family

Hannah and her brother decided to take the dog to the local animal shelter to have his microchip scanned, hoping to reunite him with his owner. Three months went by before Hannah received a call about the dog she had rescued.

On 9th March, the shelter staff called to say the dog's name was Weston. His family had been located, but they had informed the shelter that they no longer wanted him. They felt he wasn't the "right fit" for their family.

An unexpected offer

The shelter staff then asked Hannah if she would be interested in officially adopting him. Hannah was shocked by the story and immediately regretted not having kept Weston with her all along.

However, as she shared on her Threads account, the good news is that the little dog is now an official member of her family! Hannah has renamed him Baby. He has grown a lot in the past three months and was overjoyed to be reunited with Hannah and the people who rescued him from the cold.

In the comments, people praised Hannah for her kind gesture and her decision. The young woman urged everyone not to judge the actions of Baby's previous family. We wish the lovely dog all the best in his new forever home!
