Louie was found abandoned in a local park with his two littermates. The puppies were only three months old when they were left to fend for themselves.
A stressful start
This situation caused the young dog a great deal of stress. The poor thing couldn't settle in his kennel. Whenever rescuers walked past his enclosure, Louie would pace back and forth, unable to stay still. It was no life for him.
His anxiety continued even on walks. When the rescuers took Louie out of his kennel, the poor dog was completely terrified of his surroundings. The situation only worsened as, during his time at the shelter, Louie was adopted twice and returned twice. Each time, the owners didn't give a clear reason, other than that the dog was very fearful and needed time to build trust.
A new beginning
A family living in Colorado, a nine-hour drive from the shelter, decided to give Louie a chance. They came to officially adopt him, ready to give him all the time he needed to build a bond of trust with them.
The rescuers happily shared pictures of Louie with his new family. He can be seen thriving, playing in the garden or resting calmly on his front porch. Louie can finally relax in the comfort of his new home, and we couldn't be more thrilled for him!
