A caretaker got quite the surprise of the day.

The US-based charity Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions was contacted about a mother cat and her four kittens who needed help. The family had been found by the caretaker of a residential complex.

He discovered the mother and her babies in a flat that a tenant had recently vacated. The caretaker looked after the little family for a week before calling the charity for help.

An unexpected family

When the volunteers arrived, they found that the mother was just about to finish weaning her little ones.

“Bright, sociable and thriving”

The kittens were placed in a foster home, while their mum was very quickly adopted by a loving family.

The kittens had wonderful personalities. “They were bright, sociable and thriving. Their will to live is very strong; they fear nothing. They are confident, curious and full of personality,” the charity told The Dodo.

While waiting to be adopted, the kittens grew fond of another cat in their foster home. They were completely fascinated by her, watching her every move.

They are now thriving in their new life, which is full of love and comfort.
