A trip to McDonald's helped one dog live for several more months.

A McDonald's meal gave a dog on his last legs an extra seven months of life. Beaker, an elderly American Bulldog with terminal cancer, was diagnosed in June 2025. Vets felt his condition was hopeless and suggested putting him to sleep.

The news deeply shook his owners, Nicole Williams and Mackenzie Callaghan, who had lost another dog just a few months earlier. They couldn't bear the thought of going through such a tragedy again.

McDonald's and medication

Expecting to say their final goodbyes to Beaker within hours, his owners decided to give him one last treat: a McDonald's meal. And so, he enjoyed some nuggets and a hamburger along with his medication.

The very next day, Beaker had perked up considerably. So, his owners decided to continue giving him McDonald's food along with his treatment.

A social media star

Nicole and Mackenzie made the most of this extra time, filling it with outings, outdoor adventures, and happy moments together. They made sure to include Beaker in all their travels, stopping at every McDonald's they passed on the way.

Over time, he became something of a social media phenomenon. Videos of his unorthodox fast-food diet were viewed millions of times on TikTok, reaching a huge audience of animal lovers.
