While a winter storm keeps everyone indoors, this dog has only one thing on her mind. And she's determined to make it known... very loudly.

While many residents, both human and animal, are carefully avoiding stepping outside due to the extreme cold, one Husky has decided to go completely against the grain. The result is a scene as hilarious as it is typical of the breed, which went viral in just a few days.

The dog's name is Kona, she is 8 years old and lives in Ontario, Canada. Her owner, Dani, shared a video on TikTok showing a very lively discussion between them... about a walk in the middle of a snowstorm.

A very vocal demand

In the video, posted on the @kona_malone account, Kona does exactly what Huskies do best: she 'talks'. Expressive howls, insistent stares, a paw on her owner's leg... it's all there. Kona is adamantly demanding to go outside, despite the freezing cold and the thick blanket of snow.

A detail that makes the scene even more delightful is that Ontario had just been hit by a storm that dumped almost two feet of snow, with temperatures dropping as low as -30°C. Needless to say, Dani wasn't exactly tempted.

While the situation might seem absurd to most people, it's ideal for Kona. "Kona loves the snow and the cold," explains Dani.

"She can spend hours outside and even knows how to open the door by herself when she wants to come back in. She's often very expressive, especially when she wants something or needs attention. But it's always on her terms."

Despite her dog's persistence, Dani won this round: no immediate walk in the storm. Kona would have to wait a little while. However, she wasn't completely denied a trip outside.

A social media snow star

In a second video, Dani shows Kona happily frolicking in the garden with her sister, bounding through the deep snow with undiminished enthusiasm. An acceptable compromise... although, according to her owner, it will never replace a real walk in a storm for a Husky.

"She has access to a large garden and can go out whenever she wants, but I imagine it's not as exciting as a walk in the middle of a snowstorm," Dani confides with a laugh. The video quickly surpassed 1.1 million views and garnered more than 133,000 likes, charming viewers with Kona's theatrical attitude and very distinctive voice.
