The pups had to drink water from gutters and puddles just to survive. They had no shelter and no food.
Rescuers from the RSPCA stepped in to help.
A huge challenge
When they arrived, the puppies were terrified and anxious. To gain their trust, the rescuers used tasty treats like chicken and cheese. By offering the treats with patience and gentleness, the rescuers were finally able to bring the puppies to safety at the shelter.
Then, Sally, the shelter manager, fostered Maggie, one of the female pups from the litter. Sally was very patient in helping Maggie adjust to life indoors. The little dog was afraid of everything. Even the feeling of grass under her paws scared her, as she had only ever known dirty concrete.
Learning and adapting
Maggie spent a lot of time watching how Sally's other dogs interacted with the world. She did her best to copy them. Thanks to the company of the other dogs, and by following their lead, Maggie began to open up.
Within a few months, she had become a completely different dog. Now, Maggie goes on adventures with her humans and explores the world confidently. We are thrilled for Maggie and wish her all the best for the future!
