Police have launched an appeal after two golden retriever dogs went missing from a garden in Surrey, sparking growing concern for their welfare.

Allegra and Cresca disappeared on 20 January after being let out into the garden at a property in Chilworth. More than 10 days on, the family pets have not been seen, prompting officers to ask the public for help.

Both Golden Retrievers are microchipped and described as easily identifiable, raising hopes they can be quickly reunited with their owners if spotted.

Missing for over 10 days

Surrey Police confirmed the dogs vanished at around 12:30pm and said enquiries are ongoing to establish how they went missing.

Rural crime officer Hollie Iribar said officers are “exploring every possibility” surrounding the disappearance and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the dogs or has information about their whereabouts.

She added that the dogs may have strayed or could be being looked after by someone unaware they are missing.

Public urged to check

Police are urging residents in and around Chilworth to review CCTV, doorbell footage and dashcam recordings from the day the dogs vanished.

Anyone who believes they have seen Allegra or Cresca, or who has information that could help, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference PR/45260008656.

If the dogs are found, members of the public are advised to take them to a local vet for safekeeping so they can be safely reunited with their family.
