Kylie had watched all her kennel mates get adopted, but she was always left behind, never understanding why.
Then, a few months ago, Kylie's dream finally came true: she found a family.
A fresh start
A couple came to the shelter and fell head over heels for the sweet dog. They chose her and took her home, and everything was going wonderfully. Sadly, an unexpected injury shattered her dream. Kylie tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
This serious injury required expensive surgery. As their home was only accessible by a flight of stairs, the dog's new family did everything they could to keep her, but it just wasn't possible. They had to make the heartbreaking decision to bring her back to the shelter.
Back at the shelter
Fortunately, Kylie's surgery was a success and she has recovered well. She can now run and play just like she used to!
Her rescuers have worked hard to help Kylie feel comfortable. They knew she struggled to live and play with other dogs, so they put a lot of effort into helping her socialise. Now, she gets on well with all dogs and could easily join a family that already has one. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Kylie finds the right family and that this time, she'll be in her forever home for good!
