Waiting for a forever home

Chewy has now been waiting a year for his forever home. Avery is hoping to raise his profile to help him find the family he deserves. The poor pooch is in desperate need of a warm, loving home where he can finally relax after everything he's been through.

Back in January 2024, at nine years old, Chewy was abandoned outside the shelter. The poor dog had several lumps on his body that needed to be tested. Avery suspects his former owner may have left him because they couldn't afford the veterinary bills.

A heartbreaking discovery

When the shelter staff scanned his microchip, they were completely unprepared for what they found in Chewy's records. They discovered that he had been taken in by the very same shelter as a puppy. It was from there that his previous owner had adopted him. Nine years later, he was right back where he started.

Sadly, Chewy found it difficult to adjust to shelter life. He became depressed and was barely eating. Fortunately, he was placed in a foster home, which completely transformed him. He has really come out of his shell and rediscovered his zest for life. Avery hopes he will find his forever family very soon, and so do we!
