A family from in Montcy-Notre-Dame, France, was left in disbelief after making a discovery they never expected.
They were recycling some glass bottles on a day like any other. It wasn't until a bottle nearly hit the bottom, that they heard a tiny meow coming from inside the bin.
Stuck inside
The family quickly realised a cat was trapped and in need of urgent help to survive. Emergency services were called, while the family tried to comfort and reassure the frantic feline.
Firefighters managed to rescue the cat from the bin, using a rope to pull him free.
Shaken and confused, the cat then fled the scene.
Trapped or abandoned?
Heartbreakingly, despite the efforts of kind samaritans and the emergency services, the cat has not been found.
Nor have his owners, leaving those in involved in his story confused as to whether he was stuck or intentionally abandoned.
We just hope the little survivor went on to find the love and care he deserves.
