Having laid out treats and called for him endlessly, Benny and Susanne had to face the fact that their beloved feline friend had disappeared.

Heartbroken, they packed up and travelled back to California.

A miraculous appearance

Two months later Rayne Beau's family received the most unexpected call.

Their cat had been found, in Roseville, California!

He had embarked on a 1,300 kilometre adventure, and thanks to his microchip, was reunited with his overjoyed family.

"It's a miracle he made it back to us", Suzanne told CNN. "It's hard to put into words how we felt when we heard Rayne Beau was safe".
